ABOUT US
This family run pub is managed by Matthew & Shona Lumsdaine, they have been running the Sandy Park Inn for the past 3 years. Shona is a qualified chef and her aim has been to bring fresh ideas to the classic pub menu.
As newcomers to the area they have been keen to source food that is produced locally and to support independent growers. The result is good hearty fare with some modern twists – more on the ‘food’ page.
Matt is a musician and the Sandy Park holds regular ‘open mic’ nights and gigs. These and other events connect the Sandy Park to a live music scene that thrives on this part of the moor.
Above all, Sandy Park Inn is a meeting place where local people and travellers take refuge for a meal or the night just as they did in past centuries. The inn was a staging post on the London to Plymouth
stagecoach route. Horses were changed and travellers refreshed before the dangerous journey over the moor.
